Girl Reading a Book

Pre-K 4

It can often be difficult to teach your own child the skills needed to excel in Pre-K 4 and become ready for Kindergarten. At The Preschool Whisperer, we work with children of all abilities on all relevant skills.

We first meet with the parent(s) to see what they feel their children need assistance with. Next, we develop a comprehensive tutoring plan with benchmark goals.

We then provide weekly or monthly verbal status reports that let parents know how their children are doing and what can be reinforced at home following certain lessons.

Our lessons are fun and involve play, so children don't even know they are learning. However, our students feel pride and gain recognition from us as they make achievements. The looks on their faces as they realize they can do something new are priceless.

For those children requiring more challenging work, we can also prepare lessons to challenge and excite them.

Some of the skills we teach include but are not limited to:

  • Fine motor skills

    • Cutting, gluing, coloring, and pencil holding grip

  • Recognizing and writing one's own name

  • Recognizing and identifying colors and shapes

  • Recognizing and identifying letters and sounds

  • Counting from 1 to 100

  • Counting by 5's and 10's

  • Recognizing coins

  • Counting coins

  • Understanding the calendar by learning months and days of the week

Our lessons are fun and involve play, so children don't even know they are learning. However, our students feel pride and gain recognition from us as they make achievements. The looks on their faces as they realize they can do something new are priceless.

In addition, for those children requiring more challenging work, we can also prepare lessons to challenge and excite them.
